MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference recently announced its Commissioner's Honor Roll list for the spring semester and Assumption finished second in the conference with 297 student-athletes honored for academic achievement.
The NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (CHR) program recognizes the conference's student-athletes for their achievements within the classroom. In order to be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Overall, 3,631 student-athletes were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring of 2018.
"I am extremely proud to have nearly 300 student-athletes represented on the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for the spring semester," said Jamie Marcoux, director of athletics. "This continued pursuit of academic excellence is something which is vital to our department and I would like to congratulate each of these student-athletes on this outstanding accomplishment."
Assumption's 297 honorees for NE10 sponsored sports trailed just Bentley who led all schools with 369 named to the CHR. This marks the third consecutive semester Assumption has finished second in total honorees and 11th time in the last 12 semesters they've been in the top three. Adelphi was third overall with 285 while Merrimack was fourth with 278 student-athletes.
In total, 62 percent of Assumption's student-athletes surpassed a 3.0 GPA for the semester and the athletic department as a whole posted a department-record 3.13 GPA. Individually, 17 student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA, including five members of the women's swimming and diving program. In total, 19 different programs surpassed a 3.0 as a team, while football had the most CHR selections with 47 student-athletes achieving at least a 3.0.
