Bethany Plasski (22 points) lead Greyhound women's basketball past Southern New Hampshire, 67-58, in Northeast-10 action

WORCESTER, Mass. --- Senior guard/captain BETHANY PLASSKI (Fall River, MA/Durfee) scored 22 points including a perfect seven-for-seven from the free throw line in the final four minutes leading Assumption College past Southern New Hampshire University, 67-58, in Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball action SATURDAY in the Laska Gym.

Southern New Hampshire junior forward ASHARA CARRINGTON (Marblehead, MA/Marblehead) led all scorers with 24 points.

Assumption moves to 10-6 overall with its third straight victory and 8-4 in the conference, just one game behind Stonehill (9-3) and Frnaklin Pierce (9-3). The Greyhounds are at Franklin Pierce TUESDAY at 5:30 p.m. in the feature game of the conference schedule for the day. Southern New Hampshire is now 10-6 overall and 5-6 in the conference.

The Greyhounds led all the way moving to a 14-5 advantage with 14:40 left before the break. Junior forward KAYLA PARKER (11 points, 9 rebounds) (Sanford, ME/Sanford) opened with three free throws before the Penmen's junior forward JULIA HOUGHTALING (Franconia, NH/New Hampton) scored on a layin with an assist credited to a freshman guard CHRISTINE DUFFY (South Boston, MA/Archbishop Williams).

Plasski then converted an inside move and sophomore forward MOLLY GRIFFITHS (10 points, 6 rebounds) (Walpole, MA/Ursuline Academy) drained a top-of-the-circle three-pointer and Parker again converted inside for a 10-2 lead. After senior guard ALYSSA WHITNEY (Somerville, MA/Arlington Catholic) made a three-pointer from the wing, sophomore guard THERESA AMELIO (Bronx, NY/Preston) and freshman forward KELLY MEREDITH (10 points, 7 rebounds) (Franklin, MA/Franklin) from Amelio made it 14-5.

A three-pointer with 23 seconds left in the period by Griffiths made it a 12-point game, 35-23, at the half.
