Pace women stop Greyhounds in Northeast-10 action

PLEASANTVILLE, NY --- Junior forward KRISTIN CONNOLLY (Staten Island, St. Peter's) scored 20 points as Pace University defeated Assumption College, 62-39, in Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball action Saturday at the Goldstein Center.

Junior forward MOLLY GRIFFITHS (Walpole, MA/Ursuline) finished with eight points and 11 rebounds while senior forward KAYLA PARKER (Sanford, MA/Sanford) had eight points to lead the Greyhounds.

The Pace defense played a key role in the outcome limiting the Greyhounds to 17-for-53 performance from the floor and 0-for-3 from three point territory. Pace, on the other hand, made eight three-pointers and all 16 of its free throws.

Pace sped to a 25-20 halftime lead as Connolly finished with 10 points.

Pace is now 9-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play, while the Greyhounds fall to 8-4 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

The Greyhounds are next in action Wednesday, January 6, when they host the University of Massachusetts Lowell at the Laska Gym.
