Haney standout for Hounds swim team at Keene Invitational
WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. --- Freshman
MONIQUE HANEY (Rialto, CA/Bloomington) won four
events and finished second in a fifth as Assumption College
competed in the Keene State Invitational Meet held here SATURDAY at
the Upper Valley Aquatic Club.
Haney set personal bests and team records while
winning the 400-yard individual medley (4:40.65) and the 200-yard
individual medley (2:14.24). She also won the 1,000-yard
freestyle (10:52.07) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.84).
She finished second in the 100-yard butterfly
event with a career-best and team-record time (1;00.83).
She was part of four relays that netted her
another 30 points en route to a team record 127.00 points.
The Greyhounds 200-yard freestyle relay team of
sophomore AMANDA GUY (Lakeville, MA/Apponequet),
freshman CARLY ECKLES (Sherborn,
MA/Dover-Sherborn), freshman DORIAN GEORGE
(Holden, MA/Wachusett) and Haney set a team-record (1:45.70).
The Greyhounds are next in action SATURDAY at
Pace in a tri-meet with Le Moyne College.
