Hounds swimmers split double dual meet

JENNIFER RYAN    PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. --- Assumption College women’s swimming and diving team split a double dual meet here SATURDAY at the Goldsten Center at Pace University. They defeated Le Moyne (73-66) and were beaten by Pace (81-54).
   The team also had three firsts as sophomore JENNIFER RYAN (Weston, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas) (PICTURED RIGHT) won the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:14.53) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:39.58) (career-best time), while freshman MONIQUE HANEY (Rialto, CA/Bloomington) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.41).

   MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
   freshman JILL BURKE (North Andover, MA/Central Catholic) had three career best times in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.13), the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.79) (TEAM RECORD) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:21.46)
   freshman diver KAITLYN DUSSI (Billerica, MA/Billerica) had a career-high 165.97 points in the 1-meter diving event
   freshman KAITLYN FAGUNDES (East Freetown, MA/Apponequet) had a career best time in the 200-yard backstroke (2:27.56)
   freshman DORIAN GEORGE (Holden, MA/Wachusett) had a career bes in the 50-yard freestyle (26.57)
   sophomore HAYLEY GROSSMAN (Barrington, RI/Barrington) had a career best in the 100-yard freestyle (1:05.53)
   freshman MONIQUE HANEY (Rialto, CA/Bloomington) won the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard individual medley in a career-best time (2:13.57) (TEAM RECORD)
   freshman KATIE HULING (Sparkill, NY/Tappan Zee) had career best times in the 50-yard freestyle (27.93) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.07)
   freshman KERRIANN LUSK (Reading, MA/Reading) had a career-best 100 yard backstroke (1:07.86)
   freshman RACHEL PELLEGRINE (Hanson, MA/Whitman-Hanson) had a career best 200-yard breaststroke (2:40.54)
   freshman MAUREEN QUIRK (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield) had career best times in both the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.76) and the 100-yard freestyle (58.12)
   sophomore JENNIFER RYAN (Weston, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas) won two events including the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:14.53) and the 200-yard breatsstroke with a career-best time (2:39.50) (TEAM RECORD)
   freshman MEAGHAN SHEA (Orlando, FL/Orlando Lutheran) had career best times in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:28.72) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:38.61)
   senior JESS WOLTER (Stonington, CT/Stonington) had a career best time in the 100-yard freestyle (1:01.52)

   The team is at Le Moyne next SATURDAY in another double dual meet with the College of Saint Rose.
