Hounds place second at Worcester City Swim Championships
WORCESTER, Mass. --- Freshman MONIQUE HANEY (Railto, CA/Bloomington) was the individual standout for Assumption College women’s swimming and diving team as it placed second in the Worcester City Championships on Saturday at Holy Cross College.
The final team scores were: 1, Holy Cross (625); 2, Assumption (393); 3, Clark (337); 4, Pace (263).
Haney totalled 109 points winning the
200-yard butterfly (2:09.88) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:15.06).
She also was second in the 1650-yard freestyle (18:26.9). She was
also part of four Assumption relay teams that finished in the top
three of their event.
Sophomore JENNIFER RYAN
(Weston, FL/St. Thomas Aquinas) totalled 80 points, finishing
second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:17.24) and third in the
400-yard individual medley (4:55.64). She also participated in four
Assumption relay teams.
Sophomore AMANDA GUY
(Lakeville, MA/Apponequet) totalled 70 points for Assumption,
placing in the top five in three events. She was also part of three
relay teams that finished in the top three.
Assumption's next meek comes February 4-6 as
they head to Southern Connecticut University for the Northeast-10
Championships.
