Paige Gilet leads women's tennis past Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, NH --- Freshman PAIGE
GILET (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) won both her singles
match and her doubles match to lead Assumption College
women’s tennis past Franklin Pierce University, 5-4, in a
marathon Northeast-10 Conference match here SATURDAY.
Gilet won her No. 4 singles match outlasting
Raven senior LAUREN SMILOVICH (Meriden, CT/Sacred
Heart), 6-7 (6-8), 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). She then teamed with
senior captain GRACE FOX (Warwick, RI/Toll Gate)
to win at No. 2 doubles over Smilovich and junior DREW
ALEXANDER (Long Beach, NY/Long Beach), 8-4.
The Greyhounds, now 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the
conference, will play at Merrimack SUNDAY, at New Haven MONDAY in
conference matches and then host Nichols College FRIDAY.
Franklin Pierce is now 0-5 and 0-5 and hosts conference rival
Bentley TUESDAY.
