Merrimack stops Hounds women's tennis, 7-2, in NE-10 match

    NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. --- Merrimack College defeated Assumption College, 7-2, in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s tennis match here SUNDAY.
    The Greyhounds were led by freshman PAIGE GILET (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) who won at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, over Merrimack sophomore MOLLIE FITZGERALD (Melrose, MA/Melrose). And, freshman CHRISTIE MALANGA (Bolton, CT/East Catholic) who won her No. 6 singles match over Merrimack sophomore SIOBHAN LICUDINE (Mansfield, MA/Bishop Feehan), 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.
    Assumption is now 1-3 overall and 1-3 in the conference, while Merrimack is 2-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Greyhounds are in action MONDAY at the University of New Haven in another conference match at 1 p.m. That match is scheduled to be played at Amity, CT High School.
