Saint Rose stops Greyhounds women's tennis . . .

WORCESTER, Mass. --- The College of Saint
Rose won four of six singles matches en route to a 6-3 win over
Assumption College in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s
tennis match SUNDAY at the Greyhounds courts.
Sophomore JENNIFER CREGO (West
Shokan, NY/Onteora) won at No. 1 singles defeating Greyhound
sophomore ERICA MICCICHE (Framingham,
MA/Framingham), 6-1 and retired (1-0) and then won at No. 2 doubles
with senior KIMBERLY SCHACHER (Cobleskill,
NY/Cobleskill Richmondville) over the Hounds senior captain
GRACE FOX (Warwick, RI/Toll Gate) and freshman
PAIGE GILET (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford), 8-5.
Greyhound freshman MEGHAN HALL
(Pembroke, MA/Notre Dame) won at No. 3 singles over junior
ERIN REEG (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland), 6-1,
6-1 and freshman ALEXANDRA RAHAL (Queensbury,
NY/Queensbury) defeated junior STEPHANIE BELZ
(Sayville, NY/Saint John the Baptiste), 3-6, 6-2, 10-5
(tiebreaker).
The Hounds No. 3 doubles team of sophomore
ALLIE PLACK (Oakdale, CT/Montville) and Rahal
defeated junior VALERIA BIANCHI (Middletown,
NY/Minisink Valley) and Belz.
Saint Rose is now 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the
conference, while the Greyhounds are 0-1 and 0-1. Saint Rose
is at Bentley University in another conference match Sunday, while
the Greyhounds are at Bentley Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
