WORCESTER, Mass. – Following a third consecutive NE10 Tournament appearance, Assumption field hockey head coach Annie Lahey has high hopes in 2017, and today has released the program's 2017 schedule.
"I am looking forward to coaching this team for the 2017 season," said Lahey. "We have an excellent incoming class, a young, strong group returning, and the leadership of a senior class that has been a part of some great teams and are ready to leave their mark. The NE10 is a very competitive conference and every game is a battle and we know that each contest will matter as we look to make the playoffs again. I am excited to see what this group is capable of accomplishing."
The Hounds open their season on the road against Saint Anselm in a non-conference match up at 1 pm on Sept. 2. That is followed by a home game against Molly at 11:30 am on Sept. 4 and two more non-conference battles versus Pace (9/9) and Stonehill (9/11). The team then travels to New Haven before hosting Bentley on Sept. 16.
Assumption concludes the month with three of four games on the road, with the exception being a home contest against defending NE10 Champion LIU Post on Sept. 26. The Hounds open October with a game at Stonehill on the 4th, before four straight home games. Assumption hosts AIC (10/7), Saint Anselm (10/10), St. Thomas Aquinas (10/14) and then Pace (10/18).
The Hounds travel to face Southern Connecticut on Oct. 21 before concluding the regular season at Adelphi (10/24) and then home against Franklin Pierce on Oct. 27 for senior day.
