Hounds Earn Sixth Place Overall in Franklin Pierce Invitational

- The Lead: This past weekend the Hounds shot the third-lowest seccond day (289) to finish at 601 (+25) on the par-72 course overall and place sixth out of 12 teams at the Brentwood Golf Course.

 - Freshman Connor Anderson (Raynham, Mass. / Bridgewater Raynham) of the Hounds placed first for the team and tied for 11th overall with his 147. He shot 76 in the first round and followed it up with a one-under 71 in the second round.

- Right behing him teammates AJ Cooney (North Branford, Conn. / North Branford)  and James Elliot (Gill, Mass. / Pioneer Valley Regional) tied for 17th overall in the tournament. Both Cooney and Elliot shot 148 (+4) overall. Cooney shot 79 in the first round then improved to 69 in the second, while Elliot shot a 76 and improved to a 72 in the second round.

Justin Clutter (Bedford, N.H. / Bedford) tied for 49th overall and 4th in team standings with a score card of 158 (+14). Matt Wessenberg (Medway, Mass. / Catholic Memorial) also tied earning 54th place in the tournament shooting a 162 (+18) in the two days.


- Three of the five Greyhounds finished in the top 20 of the Invitation out of 50 golfers .

- Every Hound improved their score on the second round.

- Saint Thomas Aquinas won the Invitational with a team score of 552 (-24). Southern New Hampshire took second with a score of 574(-2), while  Dominican College (N.Y.) placed third with a  581 (+5).


-The Hounds are on the road to play in Quechee, Vt. in the Quechee Division II Challenge.
