Assumption In Fourth After First Day of The Franklin Pierce Invitational

THE BASICS:

- The Lead: After the first day of play in the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational at the Keene Country Club, the Assumption men's golf team is in fourth place shooting a combined 306.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- After the first round, junior James Elliot (Gill, Mass./Pioneer Valley Regional) leads the Hounds in the Invitational taking fourth place overall and shooting a 73 (+1). 

- Freshman Andrew Sanzaro (Wethersfield, Conn./ Wethersfield) is currently in second for Assumption with a score of 77 and tied for 13th overall. 

- Just one stroke behind Sanzaro, sophomores Mark Bryant (Hardwick, N.J./ North Warren Regional) and Zach Magarian (Worcester, Mass./ West Boylston) are tied for 15th in the Invitational after shooting a 78 (+6). Senior Justin Clutter (Bedford, N.H./Bedford) shot an 82 which tied him for 39th overall.
 
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Southern New Hampshire (298), St. Thomas Aquinas (301), and Franklin Pierce (304) placed in the top three respectively at the end of the first round. 
 
- Margarian recorded an eagle, while Clutter tallied three birdies. Elliot currently leads the Invitational with 13 pars.
