Men's Golf Ties for Fourth in Franklin Pierce Invitational

THE BASICS:

- Tournament: Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational 
- Results:  T4th of 10 teams | 306 + 315 = 621

- The Lead: After the final round at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational, the Hounds tied for fourth with Dominican College as they shot a 621 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- After shooting a 149 over the two day Invitational, junior James Elliot (Gill, Mass./Pioneer Valley Regional) placed first for Assumption and tied for fourth place overall along with Michael Miranda of St. Thomas Aquinas and Dylan Pliss of Franklin Pierce.
 
- Sophomore Zach Magarian (Worcester, Mass./ West Boylston) moved into second place for the Hounds after shooting one more stroke than yesterday for an overall score of 157. 
 
- Freshman Andrew Sanzaro (Wethersfield, Conn./ Wethersfield) shot an 81 on the second day, tying him for 21st while Mark Bryant (Hardwick, N.J./ North Warren Regional) tied for 24th shooting just two strokes shy of Sanzaro. 
 
Senior Justin Clutter (Bedford, N.H./Bedford) improved his score by cutting off three strokes and tied for 32nd overall. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- In the second day, Southern New Hampshire remained in first with an overall team score of 594. Franklin Pierce moved into second place with a score of 598, while St. Thomas Aquinas was bumped to third with a 617. Assumption and Dominican College scored a 621 which tied them for fourth place. 
 
- Sanzaro led the team with five birdies, while Elliot tallied the most pars for the Hounds with 22. 
 
UP NEXT: 

- October 1, the Hounds will travel to Southern New Hampshire to compete in the NE10 Championship.
