The Lead: The Assumption College men's golf team cut six strokes off their score from yesterday to move up to seventh place in the Mike Bello Invitational hosted by Le Moyne over the past two days.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore Zach Magarian (Worcester, Mass./West Boylston) and senior Justin Clutter (Bedford,N.H./Bedford) tied for 25th overall shooting a combined 157. Clutter cut three strokes off his score from the first day to move up in the rankings.
- Mark Bryant (Hardwick,N.J./North Warren Regional) shot a 78 in the second day, cutting off five strokes to tie for 43rd place overall in the invitational along with James Elliot (Gill, Mass./Pioneer Valley Regional) who shot a combined 161. Freshman Andrew Sanzaro (Wethersfield, Mass./Wethersfield) shot an 84 to tie for 58th.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Three out of the five Assumption golfers shot a lower score on the second day of the invitational to lead them to a seventh place finish.
- Roberts Wesleyan remained in first place with an overall score of 598, while Dominican pushed Southern New Hampshire out of the second place spot, shooting a 610. Le Moyne took fourth with a combined score of 614, while American International rounded out the top five with a 618. Post (625), Assumption (634), Saint Anselm (635), Saint Rose (639), and Chesnut Hill (642) concluded the top ten.
