Laughlin, Tomassini and Brady Highlight NE10 Award Winners

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior forward Cam Laughlin (Natick, Mass. / Portland Jr. Pirates (USPHL Premier)), junior defenseman Dante Tomassini (North Branford, Conn. / Connecticut Jr. Wolfpack (EHL)) and Head Coach Lance Brady highlighted the NE10 major awards, as announced by the conference on Friday. This is the first time in five years the Hounds have placed three players on NE10 All-Conference teams. 

Laughlin recorded an NE10-best 32 points on 17 goals and 15 assists while tying for first in the conference with four game-winning goals. He is also in top five in plus/minus (+18), assists, and goals. This is the first season Laughlin earned All-Conference honors from NE10. Earlier this season he was name NE10 Player of the Week, after recording five points in a 2-0 weekend against Franklin Pierce. He also leads the team in power play goals and game winning goals with five and four respectively, and all of his game-winning goals this season were against conference opponents. This week, Laughlin was also acknowledged as a Semifinalist for the Joe Concannon award which is annually presented to the best American-born NCAA Division II/III hockey player in New England. 

Tomassini had a career-best season recording 18 points on two goals and 16 assists. On the year he is also +7 which fourth on the team. In the NE10, Tomassini is second in assists with 16. Tomassini recorded six multi-point games this season to lead the Hound defense in scoring. Against Southern New Hampshire and Franklin Pierce he dished off assists on the game winning goals. He is the second player in Assumption ice hockey history to receive NE10 Defensive Player of the Year honors. 

Brady is currently is second all-time in program history in wins. Entering his fourth straight NE10 Tournament appearance with the Hounds, Brady has an overall record of 99 career victories. This season he has coached the Hounds to their best winning percentage (.615) since the 1993-1994 campaign by amassing at 15-9-2 record. This is the fourth time in his coaching career at Assumption he has received this honor from the NE10. 

In addition to the major award winners, senior Tommy Mahoney (Braintree, Mass. / Boston Bandits (EHL)) and freshman John Chamberlain (Amesbury, Mass. / Williston Northampton School)) were also recognized by the NE10 with All-Conference honors. Mahoney, an All-Conference Second Team selection, was second on the team in scoring with 12 goals and was tied for second on the team in point with 26. In the NE10 he was third overall in points and fourth in goals. Chamberlain, an All-Rookie Team Selection, led the Assumption freshmen class, recording 10 points on seven goals and three assists. He also had back-to-back game-winning goals in Assumption's weekend sweep over Franklin Pierce earlier this season.
