    Providence, R.I. (June 10) -- Assumption College has finished sixth out of 15 institutions in the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference President’s Cup standings, which were announced on Monday night in Providence, R.I. at the league’s annual Awards Night ceremony at the Providence Hilton.

    Worcester, Mass. (June 2) -- The Assumption College Department of Athletics has announced the 2016 Hall of Fame Class, which will be inducted on November 4, 2016. This year’s inductees include Sandy Norton `74 (ice hockey/football), Jeff Blanchard `81 (football), Caitlyn Clark `06 (cross country/track and field, Ralph DeLucia (softball coach) and Ryan Richert `03 (tennis).

(May 13) -- The Assumption College Department of Athletics recently held the First “Houndies” Student-Athlete Awards Night, honoring the top student-athletes and accomplishments from the 2015-2016 athletic season. The event was held in Laska Gym with nearly 700 student-athletes and special guests in attendance and featured women’s basketball head coach Kerry Phayre and football head coach Bob Chesney as emcees for the evening.

  • Men's Tennis Earns 5-4 Victory over Le Moyne

    In a tough battle at home on Saturday afternoon, the Assumption College men's tennis team earned a narrow 5-4 victory over Le Moyne to clinch a three-way tie for fifth place in the Northeast-10 Conference standings. The Hounds currently await final decision on the three-way tiebreaker to determine if they will earn their third trip to the playoffs in the last three seasons.

    The Assumption College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 final on the road against Merrimack in Middleton, Mass. on Friday. Sophomore Ryan Foster (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet) was the only Hound to claim a victory on the day at No. 2 singles in a match that was moved indoors due to weather.

  • Men's Tennis Shuts Out AIC, 9-0

    The Assumption College men's tennis team posted a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday afternoon over American Int'l in Springfield, Mass. The shutout marks the first for the Hounds this season as they look to complete the regular season in the top six in the Northeast-10 Conference to earn an NE-10 Tournament berth.

    The Assumption College men's tennis team fell by a score of 6-3 to Bentley University on the road on Saturday, despite claiming the first two doubles matches. The Hounds are set to return to action on Wednesday when they travel to American Int'l at 3:30 p.m.
  • Men's Tennis Earns 7-2 Victory over Saint Michael's

    The Assumption College men's tennis team improved to 3-3 in the Northeast-10 Conference on Tuesday with a 7-2 victory over Saint Michael's at the Paxton Tennis and Fitness Club. Four Hounds went undefeated on the day including junior Chris Waung, sophomore Ryan Foster, junior Marco Leung and freshman Reb Mariano.

    The Assumption College men's tennis team fell in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon to the visiting Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan by a score of 6-3 at the Assumption College Tennis Courts. Two Hounds, including sophomore Ryan Foster (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet) and junior Tom Knight (Wilbraham, Mass. / Minnechaug Regional) claimed singles wins for Assumption on the day.

    Despite two three-set tiebreakers in singles competition, the Assumption College men's tennis team was shut out at Southern New Hampshire on Saturday 9-0. With the loss, sophomore Ryan Foster's (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet) seven-win streak comes to an end. Foster and junior Marco Leung (Macao / The International School of Macao) were the pair to go to push a third set at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.

(February 11) -- The Northeast-10 Conference has released its Fall 2015 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and for the fall semester, 276 Assumption College student-athletes earned a spot on the honor roll for posting a grade point average (GPA) of a 3.0 or higher. Overall, 3,663 NE-10 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 or higher, which is a new conference mark and an improvement of over 200 from last fall.
