CHESHIRE, CT – In a few weeks Rich Jakiel will return to Assumption College to begin his sophomore year as a business management major. And while some of his classmates will have spent the summer working at large corporations to gain experience, Jakiel will have them all beat, thanks to his busy summer. "I certainly think of this as a phenomenal learning experience for the future," said Jakiel, a 19-year-old from New Britain. "There’s some organization, management and budgeting involved in what I do." Apparently, Jakiel is also working on a minor in understatement.

SHREWSBURY, Mass. --- Freshmen DYLAN BAKER (Cherry Valley, MA/Leicester) and PATRICK MURRAY (Cumberland, RI/Cumberland) provided the Greyhound highlights as Saint Michael’s College downed Assumption College, 6-3, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s tennis action
In the women’s match played at Colchester, VT, Saint Michael’s College defeated the Greyhounds, 9-0, also in a Northeast-10 Conference match.

DURHAM, NH --- Merrimack College, the fourth-ranked team in the ITA regional poll, defeated Assumption College, 9-0, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s tennis here Thursday. Merrimack is now 11-3 overall and 10-0 in the conference. The Warriors are tied with Bentley University for first-place in the standings. Assumption is now 2-9 overall and 2-8 in the conference.
