No. 20 Ranked Hounds Swim Past Sacred Heart, 114-90

Worcester, Mass. (November 19) -- The Assumption women's swimming team, ranked No. 20 nationally in the latest Avidasports Division II National Poll, hosted Sacred Heart on Satuday afternoon in a meet at the Plourde Recreation Center. The Hounds won 114-90.

Assumption started the meet strong, winning the first four events.

For the second day in a row, Assumption started things off on a strong note as the 400-yard medley relay team won the event in a time of 4:11.77. The team of Carly Eckles (Sherborn, Mass./Dover-Sherborn), Elise Prayson (Dayton, Ohio/Archbishop Alter), Katherine Medeiros (Mattapoisett, Mass./Bishop Stang) and Maureen Quirk (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield) won the event.

Assumption extended its lead in the second event as Kerry Silva (Seekonk, Mass./Seekonk) took the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:52.83, and then Monique Haney (Rialto, Calif./Bloomington) the 200-yard freestyle before Medeiros finished first in the 50-yard freestyle finish the streak. Haney won her second event of the day in the 200-yard butterfly for her second win in four events.
