      <title>Abbey Capobianco Named Women's Lacrosse Coach</title>

      <description>WORCESTER, Mass. --- Former Bentley University assistant coach ABBEY CAPOBIANCO has been named the women's lacrosse coach at Assumption College.  The announcement was made by Ted Paulauskas, Director of Athletics.  Capobianco replaces Linda Drapeau who coached the Greyhounds from 2007-10. Capobianco is a former standout collegiate performer for both Central Connecticut State University (New Britain, CT) and the University of Massachusetts (Amherst, MA).  She spent the 2010 season as an assistant for Northeast-10 Conference rival Bentley University.</description>

In addition, Greyhound sophomore lacrosse standout MARY KING (Waltham, MA/Waltham) was presented the 2009-10 Female Sportsmanship Award. All presentations were made at the conference awards banquet in Burlington, VT Monday evening.</description>

Goldstein is just the third Greyhound to reach 100 goals following all-Americans Jenny Mongeau (2003-06) (188) and Karen Shaw (1998-99) (105). She finished the season with 27 goals, eight assists for 35 points and concluded her career with 101 goals, 35 assists for 136 points.</description>

Mongeau is the fifth Assumption College student-athlete to earn the accolade since 2001.  Previous winners have included:  2001, Stacy Mattioli (basketball);  2002, Heather Schlesinger (field hockey);  2003, Sean Kenney (tennis) and  2005, James Newman (tennis, golf). In addition she has earned one of 58 postgraduate scholarships of $7,500 as sponsored by the N.C.A.A.</description>

      <description>Assumption College senior women's lacrosse midfielder captain JENNY MONGEAU of Westboro, MA has been named to the ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-America second-team. She is the seventh Greyhound student-athlete to have earned national honors more than once following:  1976, 77, Mike Pananos (baseball);  1980, 81, Larry Mehall (baseball);  1986, 87, Jake Lepore (baseball); 1989, 90, Shonda Becker (softball); 1999, 00, 01, Stacy Mattioli (basketball) and 2004, 05 James Newman (tennis, golf).  She was named to the third-team in 2005. She is also a national finalist for an N.C.A.A. post-graduate scholarship. The Greyhounds have had 11 previous scholarship recipients including eight since 1998.</description>

      <title>Newman, Mongeau Named Academic All-Americans</title>

      <description>Assumption College senior men's tennis captain James Newman (Johannesburg, S. Africa/Damelin) and junior women's lacrosse all-America Jenny Mongeau (Westboro, MA/Westboro) have both been named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America? At-Large Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Both are among the College's first triple majors.  Mongeau was also named the IWLCA Division II Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year. Newman was named to the second-team, while Mongeau earned third-team honors---both previously earned first-team all-district honors.  Junior tennis captain elect Michael Goldman (Worcester, MA/Doherty) and sophomore tennis captain-elect Matt Stopp (Altoona, PA/Altoona) were both named to the second all-district team.</description>

      <description>Junior midfielder JENNY MONGEAU (Westboro, MA/Westboro) has been named to three all-American teams as selected by members of the media and coaches organizations. She was named second-team all-American as selected by the members of the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) . . . second-team as selected by laxpower.com and first-team by insidelacrosse.com.  She had previously earned selection to the first all-star teams of both the Northeast-10 Conference and the IWLCA Northeast Region.</description>
