Jones, Pagliuca, Set for NCAA Track & Field Championship



WORCESTER, Mass. –
Assumption College senior Antonia Pagliuca (Peabody, Mass. / Peabody) and junior Abby Jones (Arlington, Mass. / Arlington) of the women's track & field team are set to compete at the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted by Johnson C. Smith University, in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Irwin Belk Complex on May 24-26.

Pagliuca will represent Assumption in North Carolina, competing against the nation's top distance runners. The senior qualified in both the 5,000 meters and the 10,000 meters, when she set new school records at the Raleigh Relays and the Ocean State Invitational in April. Pagliuca will only be competing in the 10K, where she is currently ranked 17th in the nation with a time of 35:25.94.

Jones will represent Assumption in North Carolina, competing against the nation's top multi-athletes. The junior qualified in the heptathlon when she broke the school record at the NE10 Championships with a point total of 4970, which qualified her for nationals with the 11th highest point total in the nation.
