    Providence, R.I. (June 10) -- Assumption College has finished sixth out of 15 institutions in the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference President’s Cup standings, which were announced on Monday night in Providence, R.I. at the league’s annual Awards Night ceremony at the Providence Hilton.

(May 13) -- The Assumption College Department of Athletics recently held the First “Houndies” Student-Athlete Awards Night, honoring the top student-athletes and accomplishments from the 2015-2016 athletic season. The event was held in Laska Gym with nearly 700 student-athletes and special guests in attendance and featured women’s basketball head coach Kerry Phayre and football head coach Bob Chesney as emcees for the evening.

  • Dube Resigns as Women's Volleyball Head Coach

    Worcester, Mass. (March 22) -- Maureen Dube has resigned as the Assumption College women’s volleyball head coach to move back to her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, as announced by Nick Smith, director of athletics. A search for her successor will begin immediately.
  • Assumption Places 276 on NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll

    Mansfield, Mass. (February 11) -- The Northeast-10 Conference has released its Fall 2015 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and for the fall semester, 276 Assumption College student-athletes earned a spot on the honor roll for posting a grade point average (GPA) of a 3.0 or higher. Overall, 3,663 NE-10 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 or higher, which is a new conference mark and an improvement of over 200 from last fall.

    The Assumption College volleyball team closed its season on Saturday with a 3-1 loss against Merrimack in front of a home crowd at Laska Gymnasium. Prior to the start of the match, the Hounds honored seniors Alicia Mace (Brockton, Mass. / Brockton), Tara Reilly (Northport, N.Y. / Northport), Kelsey Kirkpatrick (Hebron, Conn. / RHAM) and Courtney Bagwell (Diamond Bar, Calif. / Diamond Bar).

    The Assumption College volleyball team fell by a final score of 3-0 on the road at Le Moyne on Tuesday night. The Hounds return home for Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 14 when they host Merrimack at 12 p.m. in Laska Gymnasium.
  • Volleyball Battles in Close, 3-2 Loss at Franklin Pierce

    The Assumption College volleyball team claimed the first two sets by scores of 25-16 and 25-23, before falling in the next three to second-ranked Franklin Pierce. The Hounds battled but ultimately fell in the match by a final score of 3-2 in an extremely close contest that included two-point losses in sets three and four, and just a three-point differential in set five.

    The Assumption College volleyball team fell in three sets to the visiting Stonehill Skyhawks on Tuesday night in front of a home crowd. Despite dropping the first set 25-17, the Hounds nearly came back in game two, falling just 25-23.

    The Assumption College volleyball team dropped three sets to American International on Tuesday evening in Laska Gymnasium by scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-18. Tuesday's match marks the first of three at home, the Hounds return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 27, when they host Stonehill at 6 p.m.

    The Assumption College volleyball team earned back-to-back wins on Saturday claiming a close 3-2 victory over NE-10 opponent Saint Rose before earning a 3-1 win over Mercy. Senior Tara Reilly (Northport, N.Y. / Northport) tallied a career high 19 kills in the Hounds' second match of the day.

    For the second straight match, the Assumption College volleyball team fought past its opponent to take the first set, but fell 3-1 on the road at New Haven on Tuesday evening. Assumption earned a 25-21 victory to kick off the match, but fell by close scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-23 in the remainder of the match.
