WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption Football will partner with Project New Hope to host its second annual Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, Oct. 13 as the Hounds square off against Southern Connecticut State at 1 p.m.
All past and present military members, as well as their immediate family will received free admission to the Saturday afternoon game. There will also be a 50/50 raffle during the contest, with the proceeds going to Project New Hope Inc.
The mission of Project New Hope is to assist veterans and their families with PTSD, TBI, military sexual issues, marital issues, chronic pain issues and suicidal thoughts and other issues that might arise. They seek to help US veterans and their spouse or partner, and children with addressing the challenges, fears and stigma that they face during and after military service. Assumption is currently 4-1 and ranks second in the nation, averaging 49.2 points per game. The Hounds are coming off a 54-9 victory over AIC on Sept. 29 and have won four straight after falling in their first contest of the season.
