WORCESTER, Mass. – Following a victory over nationally ranked Tampa on Sunday, Assumption has moved up to No. 20 in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Poll (USILA), the program's first national ranking in program history.
The Hounds received 35 points to enter the rankings at No. 20 overall. Tampa dropped from No. 9 to 19 following its loss to Assumption. Defending National Champion Merrimack remains at No. 1, while Adelphi (2), Le Moyne (7) and Pace (8) are all ranked in the top-ten. Saint Anselm, meanwhile, sits at No. 14 with 94 points.
Assumption is 2-1 overall and has won two straight after a season-opening loss to Adelphi. Most recently they came back from an 8-5 fourth quarter deficit to take down nationally ranked Tampa 11-10. This coming week the Hounds square off against No. 17 Saint Leo on Thursday at 7 p.m. as they look to extend their winning streak to three games.
