Women's Swimming and Diving Named the Favorite for NE10 Championship

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption women's swimming and diving team has been selected as the favorite to win the 2019 NE10 Conference Championship, as voted on by the league's coaches.

At last year's championship, Assumption took second with a total of 830.5 and was bested by Southern Connecticut State, with 876 total points, for the second time. So far this season, the Hounds have wins over Providence, Bryant, University of Maine and Holy Cross all at the URI Invitational, which helped them earn the favorite for these NE10 Championships.

The Hounds earned 68 points in this year's poll and collected four first place votes, followed by Southern Connecticut State in second with 65 points and three first place votes. Bentley rounded out the top three with 62 total points and two first place votes.

The 2019 NE10 Championships are set to commence on Thursday, February 7 at 6 p.m. and will continue through Sunday, February 10.
