Women's Cross Country Runs in The Worcester City Championships



THE BASICS:

- Location: Paxton, Mass. (Moore State Park)

- The Lead: The Assumption College women's cross country team had four athletes compete in the Worcester City Championships on Saturday morning. 


HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Senior Mariah Trainor (Orlando, Fla. / Edgewater) crossed the line first for the Hounds and 16th overall, racing to a time of 22:00 over the five mile course. Sophomore Alicia Polak (Lowell, Mass. / Lowell) finished 28th overall running a 22:49. 

- Emily Norman (Chelmsford, Mass. / Chelmsford) and Michaela Flaherty (Norwell, Mass. / Norwell) placed 3rd and 4th for the Hounds, as Norman took 36th overall, finishing with a time of 23:36 and Flaherty finished 44th with a time of 25:47. 


BEHIND THE NUMBERS:

- Worcester State won the Championship totaling 22 points and a 1:44:11 time. Clark (48) and WPI (70) took second and third respectively, while Lesley (108), Fitchburg (121), and Anna Maria (167) concluded the results. 


UP NEXT:

- Assumption will travel to Lehigh University on Friday September 29, to compete at the Paul Short Invite.
