Women’s Cross Country Sweeps NE10 Weekly Awards

WORCESTER, Mass. -  Following a pair of solid performances in their second race of the year, junior Kialeigh Marston (Standish, Maine / Bonny Eagle) and freshman Grace Corbett (Merrimack, N.H. / Merrimack) were named the NE10 Athlete and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Marston continued her strong junior season with a sixth place finish individually to help the Hounds place fifth in the field of Division I teams at the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday. Marston finished in 18:52, just two seconds out of fifth place.

Grace Corbett was Assumption's second-fastest runner over the weekend in helping Assumption place fifth at the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday. The freshman finished in 19:45.1, to place 22nd overall in the event. She was the fifth fastest freshmen in the meet.

This marks the second time Marston and Corbett have sweep the weekly NE10 weekly awards this year. Assumption returns to action on Oct. 6 when the team competes in the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston.
