Women's Cross Country Selected Fifth In NE10 Championship Coaches' Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. –  The Assumption College women's cross country team was chosen fifth in the Northeast-10 Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll, voted on by the league's 15 head coaches.

Assumption nailed 139 points at the conclusion of the coach's vote to put them in 5th place. Stonehill College was picked first with 196 points and 14 first-place votes. Merrimack College was picked second (182) with one first-place vote, followed by Southern New Hampshire University (157) and Saint Anselm (143) right before the Hounds. Le Moyne (118) was right behind Assumption.

Freshman Grace Corbett (Merrimack, N.H. / Merrimack) has consistently paced the Hounds throughout the season by finishing within the top five in four races for Assumption. Classmates Sydney McCann (South Dennis, Mass. / Dennis-Yarmouth Regional), and Meghan Slinskey (Fishkill, N.Y. / Our Lady of Lourdes) will help close behind after also finishing in the top five out during all four races for the Hounds.

The Hounds will also rely on junior Kialeigh Marston (Standish, Maine / Bonny Eagle), sophomore Lauren Kuhns (Homer, Alaska / Homer), sophomore Tressa Novack (Scotch Plains, N.J. / Union Catholic Regional), and freshman Ashley Wargo (Southbury, Conn. / Pomperaug), to score points at Sunday's Championship.
