Frank Vana ‘86 win 5th Ouimet Memorial Tournament
July 31, 2010 AUBURNDALE — There weren’t many anxious moments for Frank Vana yesterday, but standing on the 17th tee, nursing a three-shot lead, and waiting to see if his drive was in bounds or out of bounds certainly qualified. Vana, of course, is an Alumni-Athletics Hall of Famer at Assumption College. Finally given the safe sign by an official, Vana marched down the fairway, made perhaps his most important par, and went on to win the Ouimet Memorial Tournament for a record fifth time. [READ MORE]

April 11, 2010 RIVERHEAD, NY --- Assumption College led by sophomore RICHARD GIOVINO (Medford, MA/Malden Catholic) finished fifth in the Peter King Memorial Golf Invitational hosted by Dowling College at Long Island National Golf Course this weekend. Post University won the event with a 313-305--618 followed by American International (320-300--620), St. Thomas Aquinas (308-318--626), Nyack (309-320--629) and then the Hounds (318-314--632). Hounds golf finishes sixth at Flumere Invitational
April 7, 2010 STOW, Mass. --- Junior RYAN MYERS (Foxboro, MA/Foxboro) and sophomore RICHARD GIOVINO (Medford, MA/Malden Catholic) each carded eight-over 79s to lead the Assumption College to a sixth-place finish in the Lou Flumere Massachusetts Intercollegiate Golf Championship at the Stow Acres Golf Course Wednesday. Salem State College (305) won the event by two strokes over the College of Holy Cross (307) followed by the University of Massachusetts Lowell (312), Bentley University B (316), Bentley University A (316) and then the Greyhounds at 320.
