"I am very pleased to announce Jeff Drown as our next head men's golf coach," said Gobiel. "Jeff brings an incredible passion, energy, and expertise for teaching and coaching the game of golf. I am greatly looking forward to the many ways his talents will help elevate our program and student-athletes’ success both on and off the course in the months to come."

Drown brings more than 25 years of experience in the golf industry to Assumption, with an extensive background in player development, instruction, program management, and tournament operations. Throughout his career, he has served as a Director of Golf, Head Golf Professional, and Lead Instructor while working with players ranging from beginners to collegiate athletes.

“I’m honored to be selected as the new Men’s Golf Coach at Assumption University,” said Drown. “This is a special place with a proud tradition, and I’m excited to lead a program with tremendous potential. I look forward to building a championship-level culture, developing our student-athletes, and elevating Assumption Golf to the next level.”

Most recently, Drown served as the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton, Massachusetts, from 2022-25. In that role, he oversaw all golf operations, including staff management, scheduling, hiring, and training, while building and maintaining a full-service golf school featuring a variety of instructional programs. He also helped design and construct a state-of-the-art short-game training complex and directed tournament operations and league scheduling. Additionally, Drown directed Nike Junior Golf Camps for nine summers.

Prior to his time at Brookmeadow, Drown spent five years as the Lead Golf Instructor and Director of Golf Education at the Seth Dichard Golf Center in Hudson, New Hampshire. From 2016-21, he developed a large instructional clientele ranging from beginners to collegiate athletes and provided year-round instruction utilizing advanced golf technology. Drown also helped lead the development of a state-of-the-art indoor training facility.

Drown's experience in the golf industry also includes an extended tenure with Friel Golf Management, where he worked at multiple New Hampshire courses from 1998-2014. During that time, he held a variety of responsibilities and served as both an Assistant Manager and Assistant Golf Professional.

Drown studied Professional Golf Management at Keiser University and Sports Management at Western New England University. He was a PGA Apprentice from 2015-25 and is a USGTF Certified Professional. His instructional background also includes experience with TrackMan, Foresight, and video analysis technology.
