Syracuse, N.Y. (February 19) -- The Assumption
men's basketball team dropped a 75-54 road final at Le Moyne
on Saturday afternoon as the Greyhounds dropped to 11-16 overall
and 8-13 in Northeast-10 play. Assumption has clinched a spot in
the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, beginning later
this week. The Dolphins now sit at 12-13 overall and 10-11 in the
league.
Le Moyne took a 33-20 lead into the halftime break and continued
to lead by 13 points with 15:29 remaining in the game. The
Greyhounds answered with three straight three-pointers, including a
triple from sophomore Bobby Harris (Berlin,
N.Y./Eastern), to cut the lead to 44-40 with 13:21 left in
the game. The Dolphins pushed the lead back to double digits just
four minutes later though and led by at least 12 points the
remainder of the way in the 21-point victory.
Senior Tobin Haase (Southold, N.Y./Ridgewood)
led the Greyhounds with 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds,
while Mike Baldarelli (Sutton, Mass./Holy Name)
finished up with 10 points. Le Moyne had three players in double
figures, led by a 26-point, 12-rebound double-double from
Kevin Roth.
The Greyhounds are back in action on Wednesday night as Southern
Connecticut visits Laska Gym for a 7:30 p.m. start. On Wednesday,
the Greyhounds will honor seniors Mike Baldarelli and Tobin Haase
as part of the Senior Day ceremony.
