The Assumption Sports Performance department is a collaborative effort between Sports Medicine and Strength and Conditioning to address student-athlete well-being, focusing on injury prevention through comprehensive healthcare.  

The Sports Medicine Department is comprised of five Certified Athletic Trainers who are board-certified healthcare professionals trained to provide student-athletes with high-quality healthcare through the six domains of Athletic Training. This includes prevention, evaluation and assessment, immediate care, treatment and rehabilitation, organization and administration, and professional development. Assumption University Athletic Trainers work under the direction of head team physician Dr. Lee Mancini and make referrals through the UMASS Memorial Healthcare System.
