Worcester, Mass. -- The Assumption Women's Tennis team picked up a key win on Sunday with a 7-2 victory over the visiting Dolphins of Le Moyne.

Freshman Paige Gilet (Chelmsford, Mass. /Chelmsford) won a tough 7-6 (4), 6-2 match at #2 singles, then teamed with junior Marissa Charles (Mystic, Conn. / Saint Bernard) to win at #3 doubles, 8-2. Earlier, Charles won at #4 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Senior Grace Fox (Warwick, R.I. / Toll Gate) won 6-2, 6-2 at #3 singles, and teamed with freshman Alexandra Rahal (Queensbury, NY / Queensbury) to win at #2 doubles, 8-2. Rahal also won at #6 singles, 6-4, 6-3.

For the Dolphins, junior Caroline Tisdell (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) defeated Assumption's sophomore Erica Micchiche (Framingham, Mass. / Framingham) at #1 singles.

Assumption is now 4-5 with a 4-3 record in conference. They play next this Saturday, April 2 as they host Stonehill.
