Worcester, Mass. -- The Assumption women's tennis team fell 8-1 to the visiting Panthers of Adelphi University on Saturday at the Assumption College tennis courts.

Adelphi sophomore Maria Toft (Copenhagen, Denmark/Oesterborgerdyd Gymnasium) defeated Assumption sophomore Erica Micciche (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) 6-0, 6-0 at number one singles. At number two singles, senior Alda Ribeiro (Del Ray Beach, Fla./Spanish River) defeated Greyhound Paige Gilet (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) 6-0, 6-0

Adelphi is now 13-2 with a 7-1 record in the Northeast-10, while Assumption falls to 4-8 and 4-6 in conference. The Greyhounds head to AIC on Sunday.
