Dudley, Mass. (September 17) -- The Assumption men's tennis team dropped both matches within the tri-match on Saturday. The Hounds dropped the first match to the College of Holy Cross, 9-0, before dropping the nightcap to Nichols College by the same result.
In the match against Holy Cross, the number two single was a three-set battle for the point. Chris Das for Holy Cross, took the first set, 6-2, but freshman Joseph Esposito took the second set 7-5. In the tiebreak, Das defeated Esposito, 10-7.
In the second match against Nichols, Bison first-year Cam Lewis battled junior Pat Murray (Cumberland, R.I./Cumberland) for the final point of the match. Murray won the first set 4-6 and Lewis took the second set 6-3. The final pairing went to a tiebreaker where Lewis earned a 10-6 victory.
The Hounds move to 0-2 on the season.
The Hounds hit the courts next against Bentley on September 21 at 3:30 p.m. in Waltham, Mass.
