Worcester, Mass. (September 28) -- On Wednesday afternoon, the Assumption College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 final to visiting Southern New Hampshire in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Greyhounds fell to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the league, while the Penmen improve to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in Northeast-10 play.

The Penmen took all the three doubles match, with the Hounds battling in the number three spot. At three doubles, the team of Marissa Charles (Mystic, Conn./St. Bernard) and Paige Gilet (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) fell by an 8-5 final.

Each doubles match was a straight-set victory, with the closest match coming at number one singles as Chrissy Lyons (Holden, Mass./Worcester Academy) fell 7-6, 6-2.

Assumption is back in action on Thursday afternoon, hosting Bentley at 3:30 p.m.
