Philadelphia, Pa. (November 10) -- Led by four players in double figures, the Assumption College men's basketball team picked up its first win of the season with a 66-62 victory over Philadelphia University on Sunday afternoon at the East Region Classic, hosted by Holy Family University.

Assumption fell behind by a 12-3 margin over the opening 5:43 before a pair of free throws from junior Terrance Bobb-Jones (Wilmington, Del./Delcastle Voc-Tech) made it a seven-point game to stop the Philadelphia run. A three-pointer from the left wing from freshman Reilly Reid (Mississauga, Ontario/Lorne Park Secondary School) cut the margin down to 20-15 in favor of the Rams midway thru the period before the Rams eventually took a 33-23 lead into the halftime break.

In the second, the Hounds opened the period on a 15-4 run and took the lead for good with 14:06 at 38-37 following a three from Reid. Assumption never trailed again and led by double digits on a layup from freshman Kamali Bey (Springfield, Mass.(Wilbraham & Monson Academy), en route to the four-point victory.

Bobb-Jones led four Assumption players in double figures with 17 points and eight rebounds, along with 15 points each from both sophomore Chris Fitzgerald (Somerset, Mass./Northfield Mt. Hermon) and Bey to go along with 10 from Reid.

Assumption improves to 1-1 overall on the season, while Philadelphia drops to 1-1 thru two games.

The Hounds are back in action on Friday, November 15th as the team takes on Florida Tech for a 7 p.m. road start.
