Syracuse, N.Y. (February 9)  -- Sophomore Terrance Bobb Jones (Wilmington, Del./Delcastle Voc Tech) scored off an inbounds play with 1.1 seconds left to lift Assumption to a dramatic 65-63 road win at Le Moyne on Saturday afternoon. The win gives the Hounds a split with the Dolphins for the regular-season series.

Assumption jumped out to a quick 8-2 lead, sparked by five points from Bobb-Jones. The Dolphins answered though with a 9-0 run, capped by a layup from Ryan Romich, to seize the lead at 11-8 with 14:04 on the clock.

The half of runs continued though as Assumption put together a 13-0 surge over 7:41 behind five points from Bobb-Jones to push the margin to double figures at 21-11 with eight minutes left. Le Moyne came right back though and tied the game up at 21 with 4:53 left on a three from Brian Zapisek. Neither team led by more than three over the final minutes of the half before Assumption took the 33-32 edge into the locker room. Bobb-Jones led the Hounds with 14 points in the half, along with 10 from senior Ronson Quick (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee).

A 6-0 run to start the second half pushed the lead up to 39-32 with 16:15 left and again led by seven at 45-38 five minutes later. Le Moyne cut the lead down to one with a quick 6-0 surge, but a three from Kevin Donahue (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) ended the Dolphin run. Neither team led by more than three over the next nine minutes and the game headed into the final 3:20 tied at 55 after a Bobb-Jones free throw.

After a Tim Beinert (Bellerose Village, N.Y./Holy Cross) free throw with 2:20 left put the Hounds up 56-55, the Dolphins regained the lead for the final time on a layup from Romich with 1:47 remaining. The Hounds took a two-point lead twice, but the Dolphins answered each time and tied the game up at 63 on a pair of free throws with 21.6 left.

The Hounds inbounded the ball with seven seconds left, but it was knocked out of bounds and Assumption inbounded again with just 2.6 seconds on the clock. Senior Ryan Rozsnaki (Montreal, Quebec/Landstown) inbounded the ball to a leaping Bobb-Jones, who scored the game-winning hoop with 1.6 left. A Le Moyne desperation attempt at the buzzer was wide as the Hounds pulled out the dramatic win.

Bobb-Jones led all scorers with 24 points, including 11 of 12 at the free throw line. Quick added 19 points, along with 11 from Donahue.

Three Dolphins finished in double figures, led by a 17-point effort from Qwadere Lovell.

With the win, Assumption improves to 16-5 overall and 13-4 in Northeast-10 play, while Le Moyne falls to 11-10 overall below .500 in the league at 8-9.

Assumption is back in action on Wednesday night as the Hounds travel to the University of New Haven for a 5:30 p.m. start at Charger Gym. That game has been pushed back one day to Wednesday due to the snowstorm over the weekend.
