Hilton Head, S.C. (March 7) -- The Assumption College women's tennis team rallied to a 5-4 win over Emory & Henry on Wednesday afternoon at the Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort.
Trailing 2-1 after singles, the Greyhounds took four of the six singles matches to record the come-from-behind win.
The rally started at number one singles in which Erica Micciche (Framingham, Mass. / Framingham) fell 0-6 in the first set, but won the next two, 6-1, 6-4 to earn the Greyhounds a point.
The Greyhounds also won singles three through five as Paige Gilet (Chelmsford, Mass. / Chelmsford), Meg Hall (Pembroke, Mass. / Notre Dame), and Melanie McCauley (Charlestown, R.I. / Chariho High School) recorded wins for Assumption. The tandem of Hall and Gilet also earned the Greyhounds their lone doubles point with a 9-8 win at number two doubles.
The Greyhounds improve to 1-7 on the season with the win and will return to action on Thursday, March 7 against Brevard College. The match will begin at 3:15 p.m. in Hilton Head, S.C.
