Worcester, Mass. (April 13) -- The Assumption College women's tennis team defeated Saint Anselm College by a 6-3 final at the Assumption College tennis courts on Saturday.

Prior to the match, Assumption honored its lone senior, Erica Micciche (Framingham, Mass. / Framingham).

Trailing 2-1 after doubles, Micciche helped the Greyhounds rally with a victory at number one singles as the team swept one through five singles on the way to the 6-3 win.

Micciche finished with a straight-set, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Alexandra Lawrence. Paige Gilet (Chelmsford, Mass. / Chelmsford) earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at number two doubles while Cassy Waung (Bolton, Mass. / East Catholic) won by a hard-fought 6-3, 7-5 final at number three singles. Junior Meg Hall (Pembroke, Mass. / East Catholic) won by a 6-2, 6-4 final while Melanie McCauley (Charlestown, R.I. / Chariho) earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at number five singles.

The Greyhounds conclude the season with a  6-14 record overall and 4-8 in Northeast-10 Conference play.
