Worcester, Mass. (April 16) -- Sophomore Chris Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) of the Assumption College men's tennis team has been named Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the fourth time this season after extending his impressive winning streak to 6-0 at No. 1 singles following a 3-0 performance at Stonehill, American International and Merrimack. With the victories, Waung remains undefeated at No. 1 singles in NE-10 play.
Waung led the Hounds to a 2-1 week this past week. He won three singles matches (7-6, 6-2 vs. Stonehill's Thomas Bellio; 6-2, 6-1 vs. American International's James Worrall and 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 vs. Merrimack's Steven Francis), two in straight sets, to improve to a perfect 6-0 in the conference.
In doubles competition, Waung teamed up with junior Viljami Rahnasto (Vantaa, Finland / Eiran lukio) to go 2-1 at No. 1 doubles for the Hounds. The pair fell to Stonehill, 8-3 before topping American International, 8-1 and Merrimack, 8-6. Waung and Rahnasto move to 6-1 in the conference.

Teammate Marco Leung (Macao / The International School of Macao) also earned NE-10 honors this week. Leung was named to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll for his undefeated performance at No. 2 singles going 3-0 over Stonehill, AIC and Merrimack
The Greyhounds are scheduled to face Southern New Hampshire on the road on Friday, April 17, at 3:00 p.m.
