Mansfield, Mass. (April 9) -- Sophomore Chris Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) of the Assumption College men's tennis team has been named Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the third time this season following an impressive 4-0 performance against conference opponents this week. With the victories, Waung remains undefeated at No. 1 singles and doubles in NE-10 play.
Waung led the Hounds to a 1-1 week this past week, going 4-0 at No. 1 doubles and singles against Bentley and Saint Anselm. He won both of his singles matches in straight sets (6-2, 7-5 vs. Bentley's Kamil Pilch and 6-4, 6-4 vs. Saint Anselm's Eric Howes) to improve to a perfect 3-0 in the league.
In doubles competition, Waung teamed up with junior Viljami Rahnasto (Vantaa, Finland / Eiran lukio) to take two at No. 1 on the week. The pair earned an 8-5 win at Bentley before topping Saint Anselm, 8-6. Waung and Rahnasto also remain undefeated in the NE-10, 3-0.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to face Stonehill on the road on Thursday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m.
