The Lead: The Hounds continued their dominant play and concluded the regular season with an impressive 9-0 victory over St. Michael's on Wednesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Assumption wasted little time in two of its three doubles matches. The duo of Paige Benoit (Holden, Mass. / St. Peter Marian Central Catholic) and Maria Monje (Worcester, Mass. / Holy Name) earned a dominant 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles while Camille Latoni (San Juan, P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) and Maggie Holland (Newburyport, Mass. / St. Thomas Aquinas) won 8-2 in third flight singles.
- The top doubles pairing of Cassie Burbine (Londonderry, N.H. / Londonderry) and Hannah Riley (Ellington, Conn. / Ellington) pulled out an 8-6 victory to clinch the sweep through doubles.
- Burbine won her match at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3, while Riley earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory in second flight singles. Monje also won at No. 4 by a 6-3, 6-1 margin.
- Benoit needed a tiebreaker in the second set to secure the sweep, winning 6-2, 7-6 (7-1), while Latoni won a super set 8-0 at No. 5, and Holland earned a victory in her superset by an 8-2 score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Today's win was the Hounds' fifth this season by a 9-0 margin, which improved the team's record to 12-2 overall and 10-2 in the NE-10.
- The 12 victories for Assumption is its most since a 12-5 mark in 1988. The ten conference wins are the most in program history for the team.

- The Hounds have concluded their regular season and await their seeding in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, which begins with quarterfinal action next Wednesday.
