- The Lead: On Wednesday night at Stoutenburgh Gym, the Assumption College men's basketball team dropped a 93-58 final to No. 19 ranked Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference divisional play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Saint Anselm jumped out to an early 16-5 lead with 14:18 left in the opening half as Chris Braley knocked down a three-pointer for the 11-point advantage. The Hounds battled back and with 7:53 on the clock, the visitors made it just a six-point game at 27-21 on a free throw from sophomore Kamali Bey (Springfield, Mass./Wilbraham & Monson). An 18-6 Saint Anselm run pushed the lead up to 45-27 with 44 seconds left on a layup from Victor Joshua before the Hounds sent the game into the break at 45-30 after a three from sophomore Mat Sulda (Hatfield, Mass./Smith Academy) with just 27 seconds on the clock.

- In the second, the Hawks took the lead to 55-34 with 16:21 left on a layup from Mike McCahey and led by as many as 39 before picking up the regular-season series sweep between the two squads.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Sulda paced the Hounds with a 12-point effort, while senior Tre Owens (Rota, Spain/Rota) and Bey each posted an 11-point effort. For the Hawks, Harrison Taggart managed 19 points to lead four Hawks in double figures as McCahey had 15 points and eight rebounds and Cody Ball finished with 16 points.
