HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bentley took an early 11-2 lead with 15:57 on the clock in the first after a three from Alex Furness as the Falcons then lead 23-12 on another Furness three at the 12:39 mark. Assumption embarked on a 19-11 run over a six-minute span though to cut the lead to 34-31 and tied the game at 37-37 on a Soukup layup at 4:16. Two Soukup free throws with just five seconds left on the clock for the half gave the Hounds with a 43-41 lead at the break.
- The Falcons jumped out to a seemingly substantial lead at 55-48 on a McFarland three with 15:23 left before the Hounds answered with a quick 7-0 scoring run to tie the game up at 55-55. The Hounds took the lead at 62-58 on a three from Reid at the 11:15 mark before the Falcons answered and the game headed into the final five minutes all tied up.
- With the score 80-74 Bentley with 1:33 remaining, the lead was cut into on a Tuckson three with just 35 seconds left and a layup later made it 83-81 late. After Owens forced a turnover, two potential game-winning chances by Assumption in the final seconds fell short as the Falcons picked up the sweep of the regular-season series.
