THE BASICS:

-Location: Waltham, Mass.
-The Lead: The Assumption College men's tennis team fell by a score of 6-3 to Bentley University on the road on Saturday, despite claiming the first two doubles matches. The Hounds are set to return to action on Wednesday when they travel to American Int'l at 3:30 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-The Hounds went into singles competition up 2-1 after earning wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
-Juniors Chris Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) and Marco Leung (Macao / The International School of Macao) won 8-6 in the No. 1 match over Bentley's Brendan McCarthy and George Semander.
-In the No. 2 match, sophomore Ryan Foster (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet) and freshman Reb Mariano (New London, Conn. / Saint Andrew's School) took the win by a close score of 9-8. The pair earned the victory after a 7-2 tiebreaker.
-The only singles victory for Assumption was Waung at No. 1, who swept McCarthy 6-2, 6-3.
-All other Hounds fell in straight sets with the exception of Mariano, who stretched the No. 4 match to three. He claimed the first set 6-1 before falling in set two 7-6 on a 7-4 tiebreaker. He ultimately fell in the third 6-4 for the loss.
UP NEXT:
-Assumption is set to return to action on Wednesday, April 20, as they travel to American Int'l for another NE-10 matchup. Competition is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
