THE BASICS:

The Lead: Assumption kept it close throughout much of the first half, but Le Moyne used hot shooting in the final 20 minutes to pull away for an 83-59 victory over the Hounds Saturday afternoon on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Assumption fell behind 19-10 in the opening nine minutes, before a Justin Tuckson (Stafford, Va. / Christ Chapel Academy) triple cut the deficit to six points. Tuckson then trimmed it to four, 24-20, with a layup at 7:30.

- Just over three minutes later, Damien Rance (Melbourne, Australia / Pope John XXIII) and Marcus Murray (Washington, D.C. / John F. Kennedy) connected on threes to made it just a two-point game, 28-26. However, Le Moyne ended the period on a 9-2 run for a 37-28 advantage at the half.

- The Dolphins went on a 21-9 run over the first seven minutes of the seven half to extend their lead to 58-37. Branislav Vujadinovic (Belgrade, Serbia / St. Joseph) momentarily ended the run, but Le Moyne eventually stretched it to 67-43 with 8:31 left in regulation. The teams traded baskets over the final eight minutes, with a jumper from Vujadinovic providing the final points of the contest with 2:45 remaining.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Assumption shot 37.9 percent from the floor and connected on 9 of 21 threes while Le Moyne made 55.6 percent of its shots, including a 12 for 27 effort from downtown.

- The Hounds did outrebound the Dolphins 23-22 and get 22 points from its bench.

- Murray led Assumption with 20 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Vujadinovic chipped in 12 points, three rebounds and two blocks.

- Karl Ziegler (Annandale, Va. / Annandale) scored 14 points with eight rebounds and one steal off the bench while Rance had five points, seven rebounds and two blocks.

- Isaiah Eisendorf was one of six players in double figures, with 12 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and four assists.
