HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior Cassie Burbine (Londonderry, N.H. / Londonderry) and freshman Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) opened up at No. 1 doubles and won 8-5, before junior Paige Benoit (Holden, Mass. / St. Peter Marian Central Catholic) and sophomore Camille Latoni (San Juan, P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) sent the Hounds to singles play up 2-1 after winning 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
- Le Moyne came out hot at singles, as they took a 3-2 lead after winning at No. 1 and No. 4 singles. Chappell tied the match back up at 3-3 after winning the second flight 1-6, 6-4, 6-2, before the Dolphins were victorious out of the third flight to take a 4-3 advantage.
- Latoni won at No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-0 to force No. 5 singles to decide the match. After Le Moyne won the first set 6-0, freshman Valeria Sanchez (Carolina, P.R. / Colegio La Piedad) battled back to force a third set, winning 7-5. Sanchez fought hard but ultimately ran out of gas in the third set as her legs started cramping up, leading the Dolphins to winning the set 6-0, and the match 5-4.
