The Lead: Seniors Marco Leung (Macao / The International School of Macao) and Tom Knight (Wilbraham, Mass. / Minnechaug Regional) each won their singles matches, but it was not enough as the Hounds dropped a 7-2 decision to Le Moyne in an NE10 conference match up.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Assumption went down 3-0 after doubles play. No. 1 doubles partners Leung and Chris Waung (Bolton, Conn./East Catholic) fell 9-8 and lost the tie breaker 7-4 to Philip Blythe and Hallam Doney. Jame Gayvert and Benjamin Spoor defeated No. 2 doubles duo Danny Waung (Bolton, Conn. / East Catholic) and Ryan Foster (Bloomfield, Conn. / Classical Magnet) 8-3.The Hounds had to forfeit at No. 3 doubles.
- At No. 3 singles, Leung won his match in two sets, 6-3, 6-3. Knight won his first set of No. 5 singles 7-5 and dropped the second set 7-2. He won the tie breaker 6-4 to earn his win over Le Moyne No. 5 Steven Procopio.
- C. Waung was defeated 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1 singles by Philip Blythe. Foster lost his first set to James Gayvert 6-4 and then had to leave the match due to injury. At No. 4 singles D. Waung took Jason Barton to three sets, 6-3 2-6, 7-6, but ultimatley lost the tie breaker 7-3. The Hounds had to forfeit No. 6 singles.
