- The lead: Sophomore Maria Monje (Worcester, Mass. / Holy Name) won out of the fourth flight to break the tie and the Assumption women's tennis team defeated Le Moyne 5-4, improving to 4-0 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At number one doubles, senior Cassie Burbine (Londonderry, N.H. / Londonderry) and freshman Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) remained undefeated, beating Le Moyne's duo 8-4. Senior Paige Benoit (Holden, Mass. / St. Peter Marian Central Catholic) and freshman Valeria Sanchez (Carolina, P.R. / Colegio La Piedad) once again teamed up for second doubles but fell 8-4.
- Sophomore Camille Latoni (San Juan, P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) and freshman Veronica Op (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy) made sure the Hounds would go into singles with a lead, as they defeated Camila Humala and Marta Nunez 8-4.
- Le Moyne won at first and third singles, but Chappell stood her ground out of the second flight, defeating Tiffany Hamdan 6-0, 6-2.
- After Latoni won in sixth singles, Monje played the hero, winning the game and the match for the Hounds, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
