- The lead: The Assumption women's tennis team fell for the first time this season, as Adelphi defended their home court, 7-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Adelphi went up 2-1 on the Hounds during doubles play, as sophomore Camille Latoni (San Juan, P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) and freshman Veronica Op (Westford, Mass. / Westford Academy) were the lone winners at number three doubles, winning 8-4.
- The Panthers then went to work at singles, taking the first four flights. Freshman Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) battled with Elizabeth Kallenberg at number two singles, but ultimately fell 6-7, 4-6, 11-9.
- Freshman Valeria Sanchez (Carolina, P.R. / Colegio La Piedad) was victorious at number five singles, winning 1-6, 7-5, 11-9.
